How to Use Humor (Additional Tips)

Start where you feel comfortable and gradually stretch yourself in more humorous ways. Research some quotes or cartoons to use when working with adult learners or try coming up with some unique, light, funny ways to select the next group leader. For example, the person who drives the oldest car at their table is the new leader, or the person who has the most buttons on their shirt is the next team leader. Keep an open mind as you start to explore your options. Humor is a state of mind. It is an attitude. Be open to the unexpected, and humor will find you. Add a humorous, fun factor to your teaching adult learners, and I promise they will smile back at you!
